"I knew there were some behaviors and patterns I had created subconsciously because of past sexual abuse. I wanted to unpack all of that and heal some of that trauma.
I had patterns with needing attention from men, not feeling worthy or secure in myself. And I was getting a lot of the wrong attention.
I had a really big problem being open and vulnerable sexually with my partners. I never knew why I felt so closed off. It was a guardedness I had. I had a lot of feelings of being stuck, numb. I couldn’t feel an emotion [in my yoni] it was just very numb.
I didn’t have a previous self pleasure practice. I had a lot of anxiety and fear around that. [After Sacred Sexuality Healing] I learned to trust myself and trust my body and to feel. And since then I now have a [self pleasure] practice and I don’t have guilt or trauma around it.

I'm Vanessa Nance...
After sitting with plant medicines for the first time in 2018 I uncovered a repressed sexual abuse attempt memory from childhood. It opened the door for me to explore my relationship to my own sexuality, where I still carried hidden shame, rage and trauma in my body.
That trauma held me back for a long time in being fully seen in my body as a woman - I hid, I played small, I wore lose fitting shirts and hid my body out of fear of attracting attention.
While in graduate school for Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, I learned an astounding statistic: 1 in 5 women have experienced sexual violence or abuse.
And that is not even including the unreported cases or the numerous women who experienced micro traumas that greatly impacted her connection to her sexuality.
Working as a trauma informed somatic-healing relationship coach for the last 10 years, I can say the statistic is absolutely accurate, as about 1 in 4 women who have come to work with me have experienced some form of sexual trauma, sexual violence, rape or even, what I call "consensual rape", where a woman's nervous system goes into "fawn" because of perceived danger and says yes when she means no.
